How New Era Started
New Era Salon was founded by Alissah Ashline, right here in the Upper Valley.
Growing up in this area, I always felt like something was missing. I loved this community, but there wasn’t a salon that truly felt like my place — somewhere that matched the level of experience, creativity, and environment I knew was possible.
As I grew in the industry, I also experienced firsthand what it felt like to succeed in your work, but still feel like parts of who you are didn’t quite fit. And at some point, I knew I didn’t want to build a career where I had to change who I was to belong.
So I decided to create something different.
After moving away to the Seacoast to further my education and experience, I came back to the Upper Valley with a clear vision — to build a salon that felt elevated, supportive, and real. Five years later I did just that and this is the beginning of New Era.
A space where stylists could grow into their own version of success, and where clients could walk in and immediately feel comfortable, confident, and taken care of.
New Era was built to be more than just a salon.
